James Iles
James Alexander Iles (born February 11, 1990) is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who most recently played for Kent.
Born in Chatham, Medway, Iles signed for Kent as an academy scholar in 2005. Despite only making two appearances for the Academy side, and none for the county's second eleven,〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Player Oracle – JA Iles – 2005 to 2006 (all matches) )〕 Iles secured a first-class debut against Cambridge University.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Cambridge University Centre of Cricketing Excellence v Kent in 2006 )〕 In a match which made him Kent's youngest first-class cricketer,〔 Iles was 16 years and 95 days old.〕 he opened his wicket-taking account, having Ian Massey caught by wicket-keeper Paul Dixey.〔
He made his List A debut the following season in a match against the touring Sri Lanka A side. In a match later abandoned due to rain, Iles bowled six overs, taking the wicket of opening batsman Dilruwan Perera.
He also played rugby to a reasonably high standard, representing Kent for three years.
